How I build
Most of my time goes into the unglamorous parts of software: understanding a real problem, choosing a small enough scope, designing a data model that will not fight the product, and checking that a change behaves correctly after it ships. AI helps me move faster, but the responsibility for the decisions, the tradeoffs, and the final result stays human.
I write about the systems around the code as much as the code itself. That means project instructions, agent workflows, tests, content distribution, analytics, and the small operational habits that make a solo product easier to maintain. The goal is not to produce more output. It is to build useful things with enough context and verification that they can be trusted.
Why I write
If you are building a product on your own, I hope these notes help you skip a few dead ends. Take what is useful, adapt it to your constraints, and tell me what you discover.
Coding Charly is also a record of the decisions behind the work: what I tried, what failed, and what became a rule after seeing the same problem twice. I prefer concrete examples over broad predictions, and working notes over polished claims. When a tool or workflow changes, I try to update the relevant page so the archive stays useful to someone arriving here months later.
The site is intentionally small. There is no promise that every experiment becomes a product, or that every tool belongs in every workflow. I share the useful boundary conditions: where an agent saves time, where it needs supervision, and where a simple manual step is still the better engineering choice.
